Valentine's Day

Hello there,

Valentine's Day is almost here.

We here at Raintree Florist are excited by the prospect.  It's always a heady ride.
Sometimes we're pulling allnighters just to get your orders done and ready for delivery
the next day.  Matter of fact, last year I did stay up all night designing floral arrangements
and rose arrangements on February 13th.  If you've never been involved in the delight and the chaos, drop by one of your local florists on the day before Valentine's Day and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.  It's fun, it's fast, and it's furious.

Now that I've gotten that off my chest, this is just a reminder.  Valentine's Day, 2013
is just 2 weeks away.  How about getting your order in now and avoiding the rush?

For peonie lovers only

Hello out there.  For you peonies lovers or lovers of people who love peonies, I have seen some in the local wholesalers here in Nashville, TN this week.   I think they come from New Zealand this time of year, but don't quote me on that.  It used to be that you could only get them for a brief window late April through Mid May, but in recent years, Raintree Florist has been able to accommodate a fall request for the lovelies.
They are the large headed ones with a lower petal count.  They're usually coral or burgundy this time of year.  They are a gorgeous flower!!!  And, very pricey!!!!  They are special ordered, so let us know ahead of time.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Changing Times for Florists

In the nearly 20 years I've been in the floral business, I've seen a lot of changes. People no longer stop in at the local flower shop to pick up loose flowers on their way home for a dinner party or to surprise someone. Nowadays, they just pop into their local Whole Foods or Trader Joe's or Publix or Walmart, and they pick up that bunch of fresh cut flowers for a lot less money than it cost at a regular Nashville Flower Shop. So why does it cost so much less at the Kroger or the Swegman's?  ... << MORE >>
